DTRIC Insurance Founder And CEO Ron Toyofuku To Retire |
Thursday, November 05, 2015 |
Ron Toyofuku is set to retire as CEO and executive chairman of DTRIC Insurance Co. Ltd. early next year after more than 20 years at the company he founded.
Toyofuku, who founded the company in 1992, has already passed on his responsibilities to Michele Saito, who is now CEO and president. However, Toyofuku will not retire until February 2016 as he relinquishes his role as executive chairman.
After working at Hawaiian Insurance Group and Royal State Group, Toyofuku set up DTRIC at a point when most of his competitors were disinclined to offer affordable car coverage because of rising claim costs and strict regulations brought on by the state’s no-fault law.
In his 23 years at the group Toyofuku has expanded into several areas of the insurance business. DTRIC’s most recent addition to its repertoire, launched in the middle of August, is Cyber One. The new cyber security system insures customers against losses from internet fraud, hacking, identity theft and data breaches.
“Since founding DTRIC in 1992, Ron’s vision has been instrumental in maintaining a company that provides quality products accompanied by outstanding, customized customer service,” said Saito. “DTRIC has been fortunate to have Ron’s leadership over the years, and I look forward to continuing his inspiring legacy with this transition.”
Saito joined DTRIC in 2014 as president, after nearly 30 years of experience in the industry.
“Michele is a proven leader and public servant and in her role as president, she has already contributed sound counsel to our company,” said Toyofuku. “I am confident that Michele’s commitment to our company will further DTRIC’s success in the future.” |
